The first month of the year was slow to kick off with regards to movements in commercial sales, but finally the deals are starting to break through.

First and foremost, the 4×4 market is getting a little warmer with some interesting deals on Landrovers, in particular the ever popular Freelander. We’ve just started getting some Freelander deals creep through, so keep an eye on the website for news of prices, or mail us for a quote on any of the Landrover range.

Ford have also been instrumental in kick-starting the commercial vehicle market with some strong pricing on their Ford Transit range. Fiat vans are also becoming more popular, demonstrating that they are extremely well built and have a decent amount of longevity for such a well price vehicle.

One of our favourites at the slightly more luxurious end of the van market is the VW Transporter Sport. We reviewed one last year and loved it!

In the last few weeks we’ve forged a good relationship with a HUGE commercial van supplier which gives us access to a full range of used vans. We’re not in the market of selling old second hand vans, but if a slightly older van would suit your budget better than a new one, we are now in a strong position to find the right vehicle for you.

At last, twenty-ten is here and it’s time to kiss ‘good bye’ to the recession blues of 2009.

Despite government spin doctors singing bright signs about the car industry staying afloat due to their inspirational VAT cuts and car scrappage scheme, those of us ‘in the trade’ who rely on vehicle sales to pay the bills and not tax payers money know the truth - it’s been tough!

Many major car and van dealerships closed the doors entirely and many more layed off so many staff that huge businesses were being run by literally skeleton crews. Key staff within Best Priced Vans took time out to pursue other activities (to be announced shortly!).

The public at large expected to see vastly discounted purchase prices on cars and vans from manufacturers and dealers in an attempt to keep sales moving throughout the recession, but they never really came. The problem is that it doesn’t cost any less to build a vehicle, so short of selling cars and vans at a loss, the massive discounts that people were waiting for never came. Forecourts and holding areas filled up to the point where many of the countries largest dealers were panicinig about the number of vehicles in stock and orders of new vehicles to the UK ceased.

The second-hand car and van market was an entirely different kettle of fish though and fluctuated massively throughout the year. The one ‘constant’ throughout the year being that the value of many four wheel drive vehicles, in particular the ‘Chelsea Tractor’ type cars, plummeted and never really made any moves upwards. Sales on second hand vans increased somewhat, partly due to the number of tradesmen 9and women, to remain PC) finding themselves no longer employed by major house builders and so having to ‘go it alone’, and partly due to finance being so difficult to come by that many had no option but to swallow the capital outlay and purchase a vehicle outright.

With 2009 now slipping away in to history, lets hope that there are no more major surprises and that we can all look forward to a more proactive and financially positive 2010.

There are an abundance of contract hire deals around at the moment. Some of the best deals are on Volvo Estates, VW Golf, VW Passat, SEAT,  VW Commercials (VW Transporter and VW Caddy are great ‘buys’!)

For full details of any offers currently running, or for a quote on any vehicle whether it be contract hire, lease, PCP, or outright purchase, please email us.

PS. We’ve got a few stunning Audi R8 available too - a little different from anything else on the road, but who wants to follow the crowd - right?!

Yet another electric vehicle has come to market, but this time it works - and I like it!

Electric powered vehicles have been around for a long time, the technology’s nothing new. Can you remember the infamous Sinclaire C-5 that was going to revolutionise personal urban transport but didn’t? The idea was good - it just didn’t work.

Since those very first attempts to bring eco friendly and cost effective vehicles into our lives courageously flopped there have been many more advancements in the technology behind the electric motors. For a start, the battery life has been extended dramaticaly meaning that if you want to use your electric vehicle to get to the shops you can - and you can make it home again too! Power output has been increased, so you wn’t be relegated to crawling along in the gutter at a snails pace and you won’t have to get off with flushed cheeks to push your tonka-toy up the slightest slope. What we’re left with after all of these advancements is a  very green and very efficient way of getting around - enter the “Crooza Electric Scooter.”

The Crooza Electric Scooter has been developed to appeal to a variety of riders: students, eco warriors, retired people looking for a cheap and efficient mode of transport without having to rely on smelly old busses and city commuters. With eco-friendly green credentials, zero emmissions, 40 mile range and FREE road tax the Crooza Electric scooter is making headway into a market that was there, butt nothing could quite fit the slot properly..

The manufacturers of the Crooza Electric Scooter are really standing behind their machines by offering a 24 months parts and labour warranty and a full 12 month battery warranty. This is a more comprehensive service and support package than you’d find on many petrol scooters, which serves as a great testament to their belief in the products reliability and longevity.

I rode the Croozer Electric Scooter for the first time today - and loved it! The first thing I noticed was that there was no reassuring engine purr (or hum, or whine!) as I turned the start key - it just, wel, did nothing! One twist of the throttle proved it wsa most certainly alive though and I shot off across the car park. A few twists and turns later and I was ready to give it a ‘proper’ go. The Crooza Electric Scooter performed briliantly; it was nippy, manouevered fantastically well, and was really quiet! Even when loaded down with my weight and a rather large body-building mate the Crooza Electric Scooter still took off at a rate of knotts - far better than I’d expext from a petrol scooter in the same class.

We’ve packaged up the Croozer Electric Scooter in a ’special deal’ whcih includes the Crooza ScooterCrooza Electric Scooter really does present a cost effective and very efficient form of eco-transport. and a roll-up solar powered recharging mat for just £1550. Considering that there’s no road tax, virtually no fuel costs (especially if you use the solar mat!). the warranty, and no MoT for three years the Crooza Electric Scooter really does make this form of eco-travel a really affordable option
